Accounting, tax and technology · Karachi and worldwide

Financial clarity, then the systems that keep it that way.

Books like a ledger. Operations like a circuit.

Finnovia works with growing businesses that have outgrown their spreadsheets. We bring order to the numbers through bookkeeping, reconciliation, tax and reporting, then automate the process around them so the clarity holds instead of decaying by the next quarter.

What changes

Four things that are different six months in.

Not promises about our attitude. Specific changes to how your finance function behaves, which you can check against reality.

01

You know the number before you ask

Reporting is current rather than assembled after the fact, so the monthly review starts from a position you already understand.

02

Close stops being an event

Reconciliation runs through the month, which turns close from a week of excavation into a short review.

03

The same work stops costing the same

Once a process is stable we automate it, so month twelve takes materially less effort than month one.

04

Decisions get a foundation

Pricing, margin and cash flow questions get answered from your own numbers instead of estimates and instinct.

The starting point

What the research says about close times.

These are published industry figures, not our client results. We show them because most businesses have never seen where they sit against them, and the gap is usually the whole argument for changing something.

6.4days

Median time a finance team takes to close its books each month.

APQC benchmarking survey, 2,300 organisations
12–20days

Typical close time for small businesses under $5M revenue, where there is often no formal checklist.

Published SMB close benchmarks, 2026
20–50hrs

Average time spent on reconciliation each month, usually spread across three to five separate systems.

Ledge month end close benchmarks, 2025
30–50%

Reduction in close cycle time typically reported by organisations that automate the process.

Ventana Research, corroborated by APQC

We publish these rather than our own averages because we are early enough that our own sample would not be meaningful. When we have enough closes behind us to quote a real figure, we will quote it and name the range it came from.

What we do

Two practices. One standard.

Accounting and tax for the numbers, IT and technology for everything built around them. You deal with the same partners either way.

Why Finnovia

Two skill sets that rarely sit in one place.

Most firms are good with numbers or good with tools. Finnovia was built to be both: real accounting judgement, plus the ability to automate the process around it.

The usual arrangement

  • Books get done eventually, usually at month end
  • Reports arrive as spreadsheets, three weeks after they mattered
  • Automation is a separate vendor, if it happens at all
  • You chase them for updates
  • Every month costs the same, because nothing ever got built

With Finnovia

  • The team that reconciles your books also builds the dashboard that shows them
  • Reporting stays current, so you can open it on any day of the month
  • Recurring work gets automated once instead of repeated every month
  • You see what is happening before you have to ask
  • Scope is fixed up front, so the invoice holds no surprises

Why businesses work with us

Strategic, not transactional.

Most finance providers are paid to produce a monthly output. We are paid to make the output arrive faster and cost less each year, which is a different job with a different incentive.

Built around outcomes, not deliverables

A file delivered on time is not the same as a business that understands its numbers. We agree what should change, then work backwards to the tasks that get you there.

Finance and automation under one roof

The people reconciling your accounts are the people building the systems around them. Nothing gets lost in the handoff between an accounting vendor and a software vendor, because there is no handoff.

Scoped to where you actually are

A business at twenty transactions a week and one at two thousand need different systems. We size the engagement to the stage you are at rather than selling a standard package.

One named person, month to month

You are not routed through a queue. The same person knows your business, your quirks and your history, and answers when you write in.

Honest about the boundary

We say what we cannot do, including which filings need a licensed signature in your jurisdiction. It costs us work occasionally, and it is why nothing we hand over falls apart later.

Built to compound

Every process we stabilise and automate stays yours, documented, inside your own accounts. The value accumulates on your side of the table.

Who you work with

Five partners. No account manager layer.

You deal directly with the people doing the work. Between them they cover delivery, treasury, finance systems, technical review and legal counsel.

How we work

Five stages, in this order.

The order matters. Nothing gets automated before we understand it, and nothing gets reported on before it reconciles.

STEP 01

Discovery

A free conversation about how the business actually runs, where the numbers go, and what is currently costing you time. Twenty minutes, no charge.

STEP 02

Assessment

We look at the books, the volumes and the software, then tell you plainly what is wrong and what it would take to fix. You keep the findings either way.

STEP 03

Strategy

An agreed scope and a fixed fee, with the order of work set out. What gets fixed first, what gets automated later, and what stays as it is.

STEP 04

Implementation

History caught up, reconciliations brought current, chart of accounts rebuilt, then the repetitive work automated once the process is stable.

STEP 05

Continuous support

Monthly close on a fixed calendar, reporting you can open any day, and a named person who knows your file.

Questions

Asked before you ask.

Do you work with businesses outside Pakistan?
Yes. We work with clients in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, the UAE and Australia, alongside local businesses in Karachi and across Pakistan. The work happens inside your accounting software, and we agree overlap hours when you start.
Which accounting software do you work in?
QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books, Sage, Wave and spreadsheet based systems. If you already have a stack, we work inside it rather than asking you to move everything.
How is this different from a regular bookkeeping service?
The same team that reconciles your books also builds the automation around them. Work like invoice follow up, document capture, categorisation and reporting gets built once instead of repeated every month.
Do you file tax returns?
We handle tax planning, computation, documentation and compliance preparation. If a return has to be signed or lodged by someone licensed in your jurisdiction, we prepare the work and coordinate with that practitioner.
How does pricing work?
A fixed monthly fee, quoted after we look at your current books and transaction volume. Starting rates are listed on the accounting and technology pages, there are no hourly surprises, and the first conversation is free.
How is our financial data kept secure?
We ask for the minimum access we need, through your software's own user permissions rather than shared passwords. Credentials sit in an encrypted manager, and access is removed as soon as an engagement ends.
